What Your Time and Money Say About Your Priorities (And How to Shift Them)
"f you’re not living in alignment with your values, your calendar and bank account will eventually show you the truth.
When I look back on this past year, I see a calendar full of plans and a list of expenses that reflect my intentions.
There were professional retreats I had planned to attend, family vacations, and time set aside for personal growth and connection.
Some of those didn’t happen because life had other plans. The unexpected death of a family friend, my retinal tear, and other unexpected disruptions, impacted 2025.
And yet, when I look at where I did spend my time and money, there’s a clear pattern:
I invested it within my business, in our home, travel, and most importantly, in my family.
Much of what I’ve spent has gone toward experiences - not only with Christian and Arich - but with our parents, siblings, nieces, and nephews. I wish there had been more time with my extended family, but even that realization is a gift - it reminds me of what I want to prioritize moving forward.
This reflection invites a powerful question for all of us:
If you’re completely honest with yourself -
Where did you spend your time?
Where did you spend your money?
And do those choices reflect your core values?
For me, my core values are family, gratitude, love, and serving others through my work.
When I measure my year against those, I think I’ve done reasonably well. Not perfectly - but well enough to see what’s working, and where I want to grow.
Because awareness is the first step toward intention. And intention, when paired with honest reflection, is how we start living in closer alignment with who we truly are.
